Marks of Mission

From The Episcopal Church: We recognize with gratitude that the Five Marks of Mission, developed by the Anglican Consultative Council between 1984 and 1990, have won wide acceptance among Anglicans, and have given parishes and dioceses around the world a practical and memorable “checklist” for mission activities.

Enedina Vasquez from St. David’s, San Antonio, who is attending General Convention as the artist in residence, has interpreted the five Marks of Mission in her artwork. The pieces below will be displayed for all to see when General Convention discusses living in and through the Marks of Mission in all ministries.

Mark #1: ~ To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom

Mark #2: ~ To teach, baptize and nurture new believers
Mark #3: ~ To respond to human need by loving service
Mark #4: ~ To seek to transform unjust structures of society
Mark #5: ~ To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
